24,000 lb ANFO Blast Test
~20,000 lb TNT yield~

This blast demonstration was conducted by the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Utah on May 26, 2004. It was organzed by Creative Building Prducts (CBP) in order to show the ability of various force protection equuipment to attenuate the pressure and shrapnel produced by a 24,000 lb ANFO bomb (20,000 lb TNT yield equivalent) at various stand off distances.

Sand and/or water was used for the ballast media. No equipment was necessary for the setup and installation of the products. SHOT: 24,000 lbs ANFO for a 20,000 lb TNT yield equivalent. The products being tested wre the:

  • Guard Tower
  • Cot Bunker
  • Safety Barricades
  • High Threat Security Barricades
  • Experimental Blast Walls

The results were a COMPLETE SUCCESS! CBP's security products showed NO evidence of harmful rebound, ricochet or any through penetration of deadly shrapnel. The test conclusively showed that when compared to using a plywood barrier, or worse; nothing at all, CBP Force Protection Barriers offered amazing protection from flying debris, blast pressure, and collapsing infrastructures.
